I am right now working on another Micbandits music video. Had a really tight schedule last week, shooting day and night for 5 days. Now it’s editing time, and as any videographer would know, it is just as hard as any other process in making a video. But it’s been crazy fun, had a lot of nice folks involved and helping out so it’s going not just going to be a reward to myself, but to all those who took part.
Been watching a lot of music video-makers work to help with the editing. Especially Paul Hunter and Nabil, Paul who did Snoop’s classic The Next Episode and Drop It Like It’s Hot, while Nabil who’s been doing a lot of Kanye’s recent videos. These guys have one hell of a vision! I don’t know what it takes for one to know exactly what they want to see on-screen. Let’s just hope I improve with everything I make in the next few months.
Got a lot of help from David Cheok, who I think is a household name for local video/photo enthusiasts. Had the chance to use his studio which is just amazing! It had controlled lighting so we could be very flexible doing whatever we thought of during the session. Cousins were around too to help so that was great as well. Got one doing the behind the scenes video which should help build the hype for this vid.
I guess that’s pretty much sums up what I’ve been up to. Going to be a crazy year this time!
